I grew up and attended school in San Jose, then moved to the Sierra foothills to attend college. I earned an AA degree in Liberal Studies from Columbia College, before going on to earn a BA in Economics from CSU Stanislaus. After working in private industry for four plus years, I realized my true desire was to work with children. I returned to CSU Stanislaus to earn a teaching credential with a Crosscultural Language and Development (CLAD) certificate in Social Science for grades 7-12. It has been my honor and privilege to work with Tioga High School, Calaveras High School, and Soulsbyville Elementary. I have taught 6th through 12th grades the following subjects: World History, Geography, Economics, Math, Journalism, Computers, Study Skills, and Yearbook. Working with all these schools and grade levels gave me a valuable insight: there is a huge need for tutoring here in the foothills! I have created this company combining my love of working with students, and passion for learning. I am truly looking forward to watching students grow and learn things they feel are impossible or they’re “no good at.” Each student has so much potential, yet it can be challenging to realize this potential in a classroom of 25+ students. Working in the classroom, I know firsthand how hard it is to give each student necessary individualized attention throughout your short time with them. I am excited about having time dedicated to working one on one with each student to help them reach their highest potential. Please make sure you browse the website or contact me for information. I look forward to speaking with you, and the opportunity to work with your child. Amy Williamson Owner/Tutor |
